- Prepare 1/2 tsp Kalonji
- Make ready 2-3 pieces Red chilli whole
- Get 1 tsp Turmeric powder
- Get to taste Salt
Keep Aside It is medium spicy with full of complex flavors with dominating mustard oil flavor. Speaking of pickle spices, here I have used mustard seeds, fenugreek seeds and fennel seeds powder. Apart from this, regular usual spices are also added. Making this achari bhindi sabzi in mustard oil makes it more pickley (if that is a word!!).
Instructions to make Mustard Bhindi Masala:
- Take a mixer grinder and add mustared seeds, khus khus and green chilli and blend it and make a smooth paste.
- Heat oil in a pan add Bhindi and fry it and keep it aside.
- Add Kalonji and red chilli whole then add tomato and satue. Add mustared paste and satue. Add salt and termeric powder and mixed.
- Add fried bhindi and mixed. Cover and cook it 3-4 min and then add little bit of water and cook it 4-5 min.
- Add little bit of mustared oil and mixed and served hot with boiled rice.
To make Bhindi Masala, you will need Bhindi, Onions, Tomatoes, Ginger, Garlic, Cumin Seeds, Coriander powder, Red Chilli Powder, Turmeric Powder, Salt and Dry Mango Powder. The addition of dry mango powder really enhances the tastes and adds that twist of tanginess to the dish. This bhindi masala recipe calls for basic Indian masala with onion, tomatoes, ginger and spices. We start by cooking the bhindi first until the sliminess almost goes away. Once that is done, then we cook the masala and then add the cooked bhindi to it.
