Use a toaster to toast the bread to desired darkness. Spread butter or margarine onto one side of each slice. In a cup or small bowl, stir together the sugar and cinnamon; sprinkle generously over hot buttered toast.

The ingredients needed to make Cinnamon Toast:
- Get white bread
- Take salted butter, softened
- Take white sugar
- Prepare ground cinnamon
That paste gets spread over the bread and baked. It's important to get that buttery goodness all the way to the edges of the bread because after we bake it for a while to allow. It took skill; if you weren't careful holding that spoon you would end up with hilly clumps instead of an even spread. When I mentioned to my friend Heidi that I wanted to write about cinnamon toast she declared, "But it's so easy!" Then I asked her how she made hers.
Steps to make Cinnamon Toast:
- Spread butter on one side of bread. Sprinkle sugar and cinnamon on buttered side. (If you mix the sugar and cinnamon first, the color would be more even)
- Heat pan. Toast the buttered side first. Toast until the sugar caramelize. (The caramelized sugar will give your toast a nice crunch)
- Toast the other side until golden brown.
But when you sprinkle on the cinnamon/sugar on after the fact, it remains loose on the surface (see above photo), partly soaking into the buttery bread. Cinnamon Toast, the Pioneer Woman Way. I have to admit, that I do too.
