This rasam came to my mind on one fine day. I always love adding lots of coriander leaves in my rasam, So i thought of adding crushed coriander seeds to give more flavour to the rasam. And when i added it, i absolutely loved the aroma and enjoyed it to the core.

The ingredients needed to make Coriander Rasam:
  1. Make ready 1 bunch fresh coriander
  2. Get 1/2 cup boiled green peas
  3. Make ready 1/2 cup fresh grated coconut
  4. Get 1 tsp jeera,mustard, hing
  5. Prepare 1 piece small tamarind
  6. Make ready 1 tsp sambhar powder
  7. Take 1 tsp gram dal
  8. Make ready 2-3 red chillies
  9. Prepare leaves few Curry

Not only that you can consume it directly as soup or you can have it with a bowl of plain rice. The rasam is made with some cooked tuvar dal (pigeon pea lentils), coarsely ground coriander-spices and lemon juice. Tempering is also done in the recipe. What you get is a tangy, spicy, aromatic rasam with the citrusy coriander flavor and the earthy warm flavor from the spices.

Instructions to make Coriander Rasam:
  1. Take fresh coriander leaves wash nicely, in a mixer jar we grind curry leaves, fresh coconut, tamarind, and coriander leaves together add some coriander seeds
  2. Heat a pan pour all batter of rasam,add enough water and add salt now let it bring to boil when just start boil we switch off the flame immediately now need to boil
  3. Now heat ghee in tadka pan and add, mustard, jeera, and temper the rasam ready to serve with meduvada,you can enjoy as soup also.

Adding coriander and toor dhal raw, I never came across. After we came back from our trip I immediately made this rasam but I could not get a chance to post it. Yesterday I made this rasam and main part is I did not know the name of this rasam :-( When I asked my sister in law she told it is poondu rasam. I love to have different kinds of rasam rather than usual garlic or tomato rasam. I made slight changes in my friend's (Thilaga) rasam recipe and tried this coriander rasam.
